Dinner with Winemaker Meinard Bloem

Tuesday, August 29 starting at 6:30 p.m.

$79 person. Tax and gratuity not included.

Reserve your spot for an intimate dinner with head winemaker Meinard Bloem of Casas del Bosque. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., guests will experience the estate grown wines of Casas del Bosque paired with the inspired cuisine from Executive Chef Zeb Stevenson.

About the Winemaker
Meinard was born and grew up in The Netherlands. He likes to travel, and on one of his trips he arrived to Chile in 1995, and has never left again. He now regards himself as more Chilean than Dutch.

After completing his study at the Universidad Católica in Santiago, he traveled to Montpellier and Geisenheim (Germany) to obtain a master’s degree in Viticulture and Enology. Back in Chile, and having worked several years at a small vineyard and winery, running everything from viticulture to barrel repair and sales, he was ready for a bigger challenge in 2016. Since the only two Sauvignon Blancs he had ever made obtained 90 points from Wine Spectator and having been called by Tim Atkin as one of “the younger generation of winemakers [that] is taking the country to new levels,” the decision to hire him at Casas del Bosque was an obvious one.

He’s one of the few winemakers who feels more confident in the vineyard than in the cellar, is fluent in six languages, enjoys riding -and occasionally crashes- a motorcycle and loves good food and classical music.

About Casas del Bosque
Casas del Bosque is one of the most important wineries in Casablanca. In 2014 it had the honour of being named “Chilean Wine Producer of the Year” for the second year running in the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), held in London.

With more than 20 years of experience, it has gained great prestige for its premium wines and tourism.

In 2012 it was recognised as the Best Vineyard to Visit in Chile (The Winery Guide, Brasil). In addition its restaurant Tanino was recognized as one of the top twenty World’s Best Winery Restaurants by Wine Access Magazine, Canada.
